Plastic in your toothpaste??

Hi guys!!

In today’s post, I just wanted to share something alarming I learned while I was at my dental office for a visit the other day.

As my dental hygienist was cleaning my teeth, she asked me specifically if I was using Crest 3D white toothpaste, which is what I have been using for the last few years. She stated that she could literally see the blue, tiny pieces of plastic that are stuck in between my teeth and gums from the toothpaste! This is extremely alarming as I had no idea and thought this was a safe toothpaste to use, especially being pregnant! There is no doubt that I have swallowed some of that plastic as well.

This article explains polyethylene with a list of all toothpastes that contain this toxic ingredient. If the plastic stays in your teeth and gums, it can cause chronic gingivitis and other issues. I have had inflamed gums for the past year and wonder now if the toothpaste is causing this problem.

I definitely do not want my family and I using this, and immediately threw out the product when I got home. Apparently you can return the toothpaste for a refund, but I did not have my receipt. I now use Pronamel, which is recommended by my dentist and does not contain those harmful toxic ingredients.

Just thought I would spread the word to raise awareness around this and hope that you guys switch to a different toothpaste stat!
