Golden Bronze Makeup! (My go-to look for all seasons!)

Hello beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 It is February 22nd already! Where the heck does the time go??? I can’t believe it is almost Spring and thennnnnn SUMMER! Hooray! One of my favourite places to go in the spring/summer is VEGAS. Yup, it’s all about the desert heat, the day parties, and the DJs for me 😀 Where do you like to go for spring break or summer??

Last night I went to dinner at one of my favourite restaurants with a girlfriend. and here is the final make-up look that I went with 🙂

IMG_8885If you are ever in Vancouver BC, definitely check out NOOK in the downtown west end 🙂 It’s this perfect, cozy, little hole in the wall Italian restaurant with a simple menu but outstanding food. Let’s just say…I ate a lot of pizza and pasta ;D ;D ;D

Okayyyy…make-up time!! Glowy Golden bronze make-up is seriously my go-to look. I just love neutrals, browns and metallicy golden colours because they remind me of summer and the beach! They are also very easy to work with! You can never go wrong with this look… you can glam it up or dress it down 🙂

How to cover up dark circles blog post and concealer review!

Hi loves!

This post is on one of my all time favorite concealers! The picture below is unedited and shows you just how bright the concealer makes my under eye area. FullSizeRender-14 If you go to the drugstore or any makeup store, you will see hundreds of different kinds of concealers which can be quite overwhelming. Trust me, I know this haha! BUT, the specific concealer I use is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer which targets dark circles, literally brightens the under eye area and pretty much ‘erases’ them as well as making me look like I’ve slept 12 hours! The product is also anti-aging and full of peptides and antioxidants to prevent wrinkles (who doesn’t love that added bonus?!). It has a sponge tip applicator, which makes for virtually a no brainer application. It is hands down my all time favourite concealer for every-day use and I highly recommend it, as it is only $7 at drugstores and on Amazon! How-To Details!

  1. Apply your foundation as you normally would or skip the foundation if you please.
  2. Choose the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer [$6-7] that is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone. I use the colour “Light” (If you have extreme dark circles, use the colour “Neutralizer” first then put whatever colour you are over top for added brightening and coverage)
  3. If I want a more full coverage look for evening or on certain days, I LOVE to use Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer which is only $5 online and a hands down dupe for Nars Radiant Concealer!
  4. Place it on the under eye area in the shape of an upside-down triangle
  5. Pat the concealer in with a brush or damp beauty sponge so that it sinks into your skin…do not swipe from side to side as this will just take everything off
  6. Re-apply the concealer again the same way in the same spots and blend again until you reach desired coverage.
  7. Take a translucent setting powder and dust over the concealer with a fluffy brush and you’re done!!!

If you haven’t already checked out my quick youtube video then you can watch it here!

All of the links above are for products/brushes I use on a daily basis 🙂

Thanks so much for checking out my blog and I hope I have helped some of you readers out there! Please leave any requests in the comment box below! ❤ Xo, Sahar

J-Lo Smokey-eye and nude lips!

Hi loves! What’s your favourite go-to make-up look for winter?? It has been gloomy and pouring rain for the past few days here in Vancouver so I decided to do a dark smokey-eye for last night’s dinner date with a girlfriend. This was my go-to make-up look when I was in my younger years. I rarely do the dark look anymore just because I tend to gravitate towards light and bright centres with more of a darker outer V or corner. But of course, sometimes you just gotta go with a dark smokey eye…especially in the middle of winter! I also filmed a quick tutorial on this eye shadow look which I will post up either on my Instagram or my Facebook 🙂

Hair: I curled my hair using the Numestyle Lustrum curling iron…the ONLY iron I use, which is fantastic! You can find it here. You can also buy the curling wands separately if you know you won’t be using all the different barrel sizes. Use code: Winter29 at check out to get any Magic curling wand for $29!!

Eliminate Hormonal Acne Naturally!!! (For women)

Hello my beauties! I am actually VERY excited to write a blog post/review on this and have been wanting to do it for a while! Of course, I wanted to wait a few months to see if results were consistent and the product actually works…and let me tell you…it is absolutely AMAZING!

  • Before I start, I want to clearly state that I was not sponsored in any way to write about this product. This worked for me and I simply felt compelled to write a review in the hopes of helping other women who have been battling hormonal acne

I have had hormonal acne for as long as I can remember. It started around the age of 20 and continued on until I started using ESTROsmart by Lorna Vanderhaughe at the age of 28. I can’t tell you how many times I cried over the horrific breakouts and cystic acne that just wouldn’t go away. I tried every single cream, pill, serum, face wash, spot treatment to washing my makeup brushes every other day, switching makeup products to even trying birth control in hopes of eliminating the acne. NOTHING worked. I could never go out anywhere without makeup on and it was so frustrating. I just kept packing on the foundation and powders which in return clogged my pores and made things worse! Many people may be unaware, but severe acne can actually cause low self-esteem, depression, and social isolation!

I discovered ESTROsmart at the Vancouver Health Fair three months ago and have been taking it ever since. It took about three weeks before I started seeing actual results. After two months of consistently taking ESTROsmart, my acne completely disappeared, I have no more PMS symptoms or mood swings and no menstrual cramps. My skin has been clear including during that time of the month when acne is worse! This product has literally changed my life, increased my self esteem and has made that time of the month effortless.

The great thing about ESTROsmart is that not only does it help balance hormones and eliminate acne naturally, it also has some serious anti-cancer benefits:

  • Maintains healthy estrogen-to-progesterone balance
  • Protects and treats your fibrocystic breasts
  • Detoxifies toxic estrogens from plastics, pesticides, cosmetics and more
  • Halts abnormal cell growth, including breast lumps, fibroids, cysts, endometriosis, and thick uterine lining for those with PCOS and ovarian cysts
  • Halts conversion of good estrogens (2-hydroxyestrone) to bad estrogens (16-hydroxyestrone)
  • Eliminates PMS and makes periods effortless
  • Maintains healthy PAP smears

  • Calcium D-Glucarate: is a powerful detoxifier of excess and toxic estrogens.
  • Indole-3-Carbinol: is an anti-cancer plant nutrient found in cruciferous vegetables. Research has shown that I3C helps to break down cancer-causing estrogens into non-toxic forms. I3C maintains a healthy cervix, protects against HPV cervical lesions and controls abnormal cell growth found in those with uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and breast lumps.
  • Green Tea Extract: contains polyphenols, catechins and flavonoids shown to be protective against estrogen-related cancers.
  • Turmeric: is the yellow pigment of turmeric. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory and it works to inhibit all stages of cancer formation: initiation, promotion and progression. It also protects against inflammatory calcium loss from our bones and aids digestion.
  • Diindolymethane (DIM): helps to break down cancer-causing estrogens into non-toxic forms. DIM is one of the products created by the breakdown of I3C.
  • Rosemary Leaf Extract: a potent antioxidant, protects cells from cancer-causing agents, inhibits the growth of cancer cells and helps to detoxify toxic estrogens.
  • Sulforaphane (from BroccoPhane broccoli sprout extract) has been shown to stimulate the body’s production of detoxification enzymes that eliminate environmental estrogens. Sulforaphane is a powerful antioxidant and anti-cancer agent that also stops brown spots on the skin.

The price is a bit steep at $42 on Amazon and trust me I was skeptical at first as well….but I can’t rave about this product enough. It is for any woman who wants to balance hormones naturally without having to be on birth control. ESTROsmart can be found in any nutrition store in Canada. For my readers who are outside of Canada, you can purchase this on Amazon here. I sincerely hope this helps some of you ladies out there who are battling with hormonal acne. I definitely feel your pain!!!

Easy hair and makeup for work or school!

Hello my beauty lovers! For today, I did an easy hair and makeup look that can be achieved in under 30 minutes! Here is the final look…

This look was fairly easy to create in that I used the basic foundation routine that’s on my NEW Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuM3S6_Wo-M6s2iK4XnETBA  and then added a simple neutral eye. This is my GO-TO look for the days when I am in a hurry but want to look put together.

For the hair: I simply brushed all of my hair back and tied it into a low ponytail. Then I took the ponytail, twisted and wrapped it around the base into a bun and tied that with another hairband. Then I just applied hairspray to the top of my head to smooth down any baby hairs and give it a ‘slicked back’ look. This whole process literally takes 2 minutes or less and can be achieved with straight or curly hair. Let me know if you would be interested in a PICTORIAL for this look! 😀

Make-up Deets in order of application!

  • Kiehl’s Oil free moisturizer to moisturize the face
  • Origins GinZing eye cream to brighten and hydrate
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation
  • Maybelline Age Rewind concealer
  • Rimmel ‘Stay Matte’ foundation to set concealer
  • MAC mineralise powder to set rest of the face
  • MAC bronzer in ‘Give Me Sun’ to warm up the face
  • Nars blush in “Orgasm” on apples of cheeks
  • Becca Highliter in “Opal” on cheekbones for a light glow (Optional)
  • Whitening Lightening Brow Bar to Go to fill in brows

  • MAC eyeshadow in ‘Brule” on eyelids up to brow bone as a base
  • MAC eyeshadow in “Saddle” all over the lid and into the crease with a fluffy brush
  • a very thin line of Lancome Art liner liquid liner
  • Lancome Hypnose mascara
  • Hourglass mechanical gel liner on the inner water line

  • MAC lip liner in “Soar” all over the lips
  • MAC lipstick in “Honey love” dabbed in the centre of the lips for a highlight

Hope you enjoyed this post and I promise I am working on my video/filming skills! I have been asked by many peeps to post about the different kinds of makeup brushes used to achieve these looks, which I will either make a video or blog post about 🙂 Xo, Sahar

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette!

Hello my beautiful friends!! So, I’m just going to take a moment to talk about how much I am OBSESSED with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna palette. It has seriously been my go-to palette ALL fall and winter long 🙂 (Along with MANY of her other products) The colours are perfect for the chilly season, and the shadows are some of the most pigmented shadows I have ever used…a huge plus. There is a nice mixture of matte and shimmers, dark and light, so you can achieve the perfect evening smokey eye OR to achieve a quick simple every day look. Here is what the pretty packaging looks like 😀 ❤ FullSizeRender IMG_7863 I am not sure if these are sold out in Sephora stores, but you can still get them online at Anastasia.net (I think!) Most of the make-up looks I have posted so far, are achieved using this palette…I know…I need to switch it up!! But this palette is seriously one of my all time favourites 😀 Now…the fun part…lets get to the make-up details!

Make up Deets!

  • Apply Kiehl’s oil free moisturizer for combo to oily skin all over face
  • Apply a small amount of Benefit Porefessional primer to T-zone and directly underneath where you applied eye cream (not all over face)
  • Apply Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation with a round buffing foundation brush (My new holy grail!! Stays put and looks flawless for hours)
  • Apply Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer to the under eye area and blend with Beauty Blender or small round buffing brush.
  • Set under eye area with Laura Mercier Loose Translucent setting powder (My all time favourite setting powder! Lasts for hours!)
  • Contour cheek bones and nose with Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit
  • Apply Nars blush in “Orgasm” to the high apples of cheeks
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold and Beautiful kit to fill in eyebrows lightly

  • Lancome Liquid Art Liner for a thin cat eye

I hope this helps, and please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions if you are unsure about anything! Thank you for reading and I’ll see you in the next post! Xo, Sahar

Natural No Make-up Make-up!

Aloha beauties!

Happy New Year!!! Hope you all had an amazing holiday season! I spent the last 2 weeks on the beautiful island of Maui! It was beautiful and sooooo warm 😀 When the weather is hot and humid, I don’t like to wear a ton of make-up so this look is perfect!

I also didn’t touch my curling iron or straightener once! Amazing! Going au-natural has never been so easy 😀 One of my favourite things about Hawaii is that I can pretty much jump out of the shower, take about 5 minutes to get ready and be done! (A huge plus for my hubby LOL) This look is super versatile…you can do a nude/coral lip for a fresh summery/spring look OR if you like, you can definitely add a darker lip since it’s winter 🙂 Makeup deets are below! Enjoy!

Make-up Deets!

  • Origin’s GinZing refreshing eye cream (to brighten and moisturize under eye area…LOVE this stuff)
  • Kiehl’s oil free moisturizer to prep skin (for combo-oily skin)
  • Benefit Porefessional primer (only on the T-zone area to prevent shine)
  • Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream SPF 35 (my absolute FAVE BB cream for warm weather! Gotta have that SPF) Buffed in with the Tarte Cosmetics bamboo foundation brush
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind dark circle eraser concealer (to highlight and conceal..gives a flawless finish!) blended in with my damp Beauty Blender
  • Laura Mercier Translucent powder to set everything with a large fluffy brush
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills beautiful brow kit to fill in the brows lightly
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit to contour the face and nose
  • Nars blush in Orgasm (Gives the perfect pink flush!)
  • Becca Cosmetics highlighter in the colour ‘Opal’ (for that perfect summer or anytime glow! Life changer for sure!)
  • Maybelline Baby Lips moisturizing lip balm SPF 20 on my lips, but you can add a nude or dark colour if you like 🙂
  • My hair is au-natural, straight out of the shower! Just added a couple spritzes of hair spray and done!

AS always, thank you for checking out my beauty blog and I will see you in the next post!
