Glowy Bronzey Makeup!

Hey friends!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and a great start the new year ūüôā I spent this NYE at home in my jammies… making pizza, drinking champagne and watching A Pitbull NYE on TV LOL! It was awesome.

Hope you all had a fun and safe NYE ūüôā

I haven’t posted in a while due to my crazy work schedule and the holiday season. I was super busy!! BUT…I promise to get right back on it. I did create a few NYE looks that I will post at a later date as well as a few product reviews…but for now I will post one of my fave looks from this past week…

I love glowy bronzey makeup all year round ūüôā It doesn’t have to be summer!! I think winter time is perfect for this makeup because it’s so dull and grey out…..but you won’t be!!

IMG_3587 2

This is one of my all time favorite looks all year round. I love warm eye colors and matching them up with dewy, bronzy skin.

Lately, since the weather has been making my skin super dry…I have been using Rosehip seed oil as a moisturizer in the morning and night. In the morning I just mix¬†a few drops into my foundation and apply..at night I will add a few drops into my hands and just press it into my skin. This stuff is AMAZING. It gives my skin SUCH a gorgeous from-within glow. I am going to write a different post specifically reviewing the oil and its benefits.

Kitty Cat Halloween Make-up!

HISSSSSSSSSSSS! Meeeoooow!!

IMG_2460

BOO! Hope I didn’t scare ya ;-D

This look was SUPER popular, so I definitely had to create a blog post for it ūüėÄ Halloween is near and it has always been my favorite time of the year….¬†Although, I feel that I have become much more of a scaredy cat these days lol (no pun intended :D) But I do love Halloween because I get to play around with all kinds of different makeup looks! Here is my inspiration for this kitty cat makeup look:

FullSizeRender 5

She’s a cutie right??!

Anyway…I went to fright night in Vancouver last night, which is filled with haunted houses, monsters, and crazies! Of course, I was chased as usual! Never fails! This year, I don’t plan on going out for Halloween night…back when I lived in LA, I used to go out every single year but I feel as though creating these makeup looks at home with a glass or two of wine is just as fun for me ūüôā

SO! I decided to go with a super blended black smokey eye for this look as it just seemed perfect. The liquid liner I placed on my bottom lash line definitely gives more of a dramatic cat eye effect. I also like to use this technique on any other makeup look to give it the eyes a bit more drama and an elongated effect.

Now before I go into my makeup details, I DO have to rave about The Kat Von D tattoo liner¬†in “Trooper” Honestly, this eyeliner is AMAZING! If you don’t have it, I suggest going out right now and buying it! You will NOT be disappointed. This liner is perfect for anyone from a beginner to a pro. The tip of the brush is phenomenal…it allows for such precision and essentially creates the perfect line or wing effortlessly. I used the liner for my eye details as well as for the whiskers and dots on my face. I am planning to get the liner in brown as well because it would be perfect for day time.

  • Nars creamy concealer in ‚ÄúCustard‚Ä̬†here¬†and Mac Prep and prime highlighter¬†here¬†blended with damp beauty blender¬†(You can use either¬†but the Mac prep and prime gives more of a brightened, highlighted effect)
  • Laura Mercier Translucent setting powder¬†here

A Fall Perspective & Make-up look!

Happy October beautiful people!!!!

I actually couldn’t be happier that it’s October ūüėÄ As I’m sure you all know by now, fall is my absolute faaaaaaaaavorite season! I never knew this until I moved to Vancouver. I remember visiting Vancity during the fall and being completely drawn to the trees, all the colors and leaves falling to the ground. I used to think hot, sunny, summer weather with no seasons was the best…but unfortunately you miss the beauty of seasons when you live in sunny Southern California! Fall quickly became a season I adored living in Vancouver and I look forward to it every year.

Each year, on a nice sunny fall day, I grab a Starbucks and take a long walk by myself. It’s a time where I can simply be present, take in the beauty of life, and of nature. It’s a time where I can be thankful that I am alive and well, while appreciating how far I have come and everything and everyone I have in my life. It’s so easy to forget all of this in the hustle and bustle of a busy life. I used to think that I was drawn to fall simply because of the colors and leaves but I found that there is a much deeper meaning behind my admiration for this special season.

Bear with me here as I give you my perspective ūüôā As I’m walking through the park, the leaves are falling over my head and while I am stepping on the many leaves that are on the ground… I can’t help but feel that this is a time of renewal and an end to the present year. I feel that each leaf that falls is a part of me that I’m leaving behind. We are constantly growing and changing each year and I feel that fall really symbolizes this. So whatever it may be that you’re leaving behind this year…negativity, old jobs, old friends, maybe things or ideas that haven’t worked out…whatever that has happened to change you as a person…simply picture¬†the leaves falling¬†and that you’re moving forward. A new year full of opportunity, happiness, experiences and excitement is headed our way friends!

IMG_2180

NOW! On to the make-up of course! If you’ve made it this far, you rock! lol Here is a look I created last weekend ūüôā¬†

IMG_2181

IMG_2182

I mainly used browns and beige/golden shimmers for this look. Just want to let you guys know, if I mention a certain palette, it doesn’t mean you need to go out and buy it! If you have similar colors then you can use those! You can even use matte bronzers and shimmery highlighters as eyeshadows! Here’s a¬†Tip! Wet your brush before¬†dipping into any¬†eyeshadow or highlighter to give a more vibrant and pigmented¬†look!

Make-up details!

  • Ginzing eye cream and face moisturizer‚Ķ¬†here¬†and¬†here
  • Dr Brandt Pore no more primer‚Ķinstantly mattifies and shrinks pores¬†here

  • Nars creamy concealer in ‚ÄúCustard‚Ä̬†here¬†and Mac Prep and prime highlighter¬†here¬†blended with damp beauty blender¬†(You can use either¬†but the Mac prep and prime gives more of a brightened, highlighted effect)
  • Marcelle loose setting powder¬†to set everything, gives a gorgeous, flawless smooth look¬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit¬†to contour hollow of cheek bones¬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna palette...Nude (or any beige color)¬†all over from lid to brow bone, Bengal & Chocolate (any light and dark brown) in the crease¬†¬†here

Dark purple/black smokey eye and blending tips!

Hi loves! ūüėÄ

I’m back again with another post!! I am making sure to give you lovelies enough¬†makeup/beauty fun to last as I am going to be pretty busy for the next little while.

I was recently accepted into a Medical Aesthetics program to become certified to¬†provide non-invasive medical treatments for cosmetic purposes (You must be a doctor or nurse to apply). Such¬†treatments include Botox, chemical and facial peels, fillers and lasers etc. I am actually VERY excited to start, as this is combining my love for beauty and skin care with¬†my nursing career! ūüôā I want nothing more than to make people feel and look the best that they have ever felt! ūüėÄ

This is the dark purple/black smokey eye I created the other day:

IMG_2098

IMG_2096

I’ve always loved the look of a super black smokey lid with a lighter color blended in the crease…especially purples and pinks! When I was younger, I used to just slap on a bunch of black eyeshadow all over my lids and call it a night LOL I never, ever¬†blended anything in and never used any transition colors. I’ve definitely learned that applying a few transition colors such as a lighter brown or nude helps make the black shadow flawless and easier to blend. You never want to apply a dark shadow on your lid without a base nude or lighter color underneath. So what I did for this look was…

  • First apply a wash of a nude/beige color (Fresh) from the lid to the brow bone with a fluffy brush.
  • Then I added a light brown color (Bengal) into the crease with the same brush…
  • Wet a small flat brush and pat in the black shadow (Noir) then pack it on the lid (a wet brush gives more vibrant color)
  • I then used the¬†fluffy brush to¬†blend, blend, blend¬†out the black harsh lines with the¬†purplish color (Sangria)

2657645

I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna palette for this look. I really love Anastasia products…she does a wonderful job! These eyeshadows are SUPER pigmented and the black one (Noir) is no joke…it is literally the blackest most pigmented shadow I’ve ever used. You barely need to dip your brush in, it’s amazing. ***This palette is currently not available but ALL of the eyeshadows are being released as singles next month! I would HIGHLY suggest getting your paws on “Noir” as a single must-have black eyeshadow***

Makeup details!

  • Ginzing eye cream and face moisturizer‚Ķ¬†here¬†and¬†here
  • Dr Brandt Pore no more primer‚Ķinstantly mattifies and shrinks pores¬†here
  • Loreal Visible Lift foundation‚Ķflawless gorgeous coverage, photographs beautifully¬†here¬†Unfortunately the one that I have has been discontinued (I stocked up on my last LA trip) but¬†here¬†is the alternative product they offer.
  • Marcelle loose setting powder¬†to set everything, gives a gorgeous, flawless smooth look¬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit¬†to contour hollow of cheek bones¬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna palette...Fresh on lid to brow bone, Bengal in the crease, Noir on the lid and Sangria to blend out the harsh black lines in crease. You can keep adding more Sangria or Bengal and blending to get the desired look/color.
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama¬†mascara (My¬†go to all time fave)¬†here
  • House Of Lashes “Iconic” lashes here
  • BHCosmetics/Carli Bybel pallete¬†golden highlighter on cheek bones, tip of nose, lips (will be back in stock soon!)¬†here¬†Some alternative highlighters I am obsessed with and that are just as beautiful are¬†here¬†and¬†here

PS What makeup tips and tricks were you unaware of in your younger years?? Mine was definitely blending ūüėÄ

Strobing and Arabic eye cut crease!

Hi beauties!!

I have been on a roll this week with makeup looks…YAY! I am definitely trying to keep these looks coming for you all, but sometimes it’s hard to think of ideas. It’s been pretty rainy in Vancouver and yesterday’s look was definitely inspired by the weather!!

I’ve been asked a few times about what “Strobing” is and it is basically just highlighting without the contour. This is the thing to do for fall and winter when your summer tan is fading. It’s perfect if you’re pale and don’t want to look too bronzed up but still glowy. You can apply a little bronzer if you wish but strobing will give you a light natural contour on it’s own. I personally add a bit of contour on myself as the rest of my body is naturally a yellowish/golden color.

It’s been a while since I have filmed a video and have been thinking about filming one on baking/strobing…what do you guys think?? :O) ¬†Here is the look I created yesterday

IMG_1965

IMG_1963

So basically, the super highlighter areas (cheek bones, bridge of nose, inner corner of eyes, under eyes, lips and chin) are what you would call “strobing” like a strobe ball lol

Make-up Details!

  • Ginzing eye cream and face moisturizer‚Ķsmells like oranges so yummy¬†here¬†and¬†here
  • Dr Brandt Pore no more primer‚Ķinstantly mattifies and shrinks pores¬†here
  • Loreal Visible Lift foundation…flawless gorgeous coverage, photographs beautifully¬†here¬†Unfortunately the one that I have has been discontinued (I stocked up on my last LA trip) but here is the alternative product they offer.
  • Nars creamy concealer in ‚ÄúCustard‚ÄĚ here and Mac Prep and prime highlighter¬†here¬†blended with damp beauty blender¬†(You can use either¬†but the Mac prep and prime gives more of a brightened, highlighted effect)
  • Marcelle loose setting powder to set everything, gives a gorgeous, flawless smooth look¬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit to contour hollow of cheek bones¬†here
  • BHCosmetics/Carli Bybel pallete golden highlighter on cheek bones, tip of nose, lips (will be back in stock soon!) here¬†Some alternative highlighters I am obsessed with and that are just as beautiful are here and here
  • Eyeshadows are also from the Carli Bybel palette
  • Cut Crease line made with Smashbox black gel liner but you can use any gel liner, black eyeliner or eyeshadow with an angled brush.
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara (My¬†go to all time fave) here
  • Velour Lashes/Carli Bybel ‚ÄúCarlilash‚Ä̬†here
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss in “Undressed” over top highlighted lips here

FullSizeRender 3

I used the bottom middle two colors to highlight my face and the top two on the left for my eyeshadow lid colors.

It’s fall <3

Helloooo my lovely beautiful people!!

Thank you for stopping by! It is officially fall in Vancouver and I couldn’t be happier! Growing up in LA, I never experienced seasons and only knew heat and sunshine all year round. Obviously that isn’t a bad thing…I grew up on the beach and loved every minute of it. I was a sun worshipper (PS don’t be one, I know first hand that there are consequences :() BUT The change from summer to fall still gets me every time!! It’s so strange when it gets cold and rainy all of a sudden…I’m like whatttt is going on?!?! haha ūüėÄ It did take me about 4 years to get used to the weather and to really learn to love the rain…but I am happy to say that I am officially a Vancouverite and absolutely love the rainy, gloomy weather:D

On that note, I’ve realized that moving to a new place really does test you and it changes you as a person…getting out of your comfort zone is important…it’s how we learn more about ourselves, who we are as people¬†and¬†all the things we are capable of doing, and being. It could be anything, such as learning a new language, taking the bus, going back to school, or picking up a new hobby. I highly recommend you lovelies get out of your comfort zone…even for a day. You’ll be shocked at what you find out about yourself;)

ColourPop Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review and Makeup Look!

Hello gorgeous!!

Thanks for stopping by ūüôā Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I haven’t been posting as much since I have started my new hospital job. Being a new nurse is definitely very stressful! There is a super high learning curve and it is just tough to prioritize my time. I’m hoping it will get better soon ūüôā They do say that the first three months are the hardest!! ūüė¶

ANYWAY on to the makeup talk! ūüėÄ I received my ColourPop Cosmetics order a while ago and have been meaning to write a quick review on their shadows. Let me just tell you…these shadows are some of the most gorgeous colors I have ever used!! They are simply amazing and only $5 a pop! Crazy! Here are swatches for the four shadows I chose: FullSizeRender-15As you can see, they are very metallic-y shiny and glittery! Perfect for a lid colour. and AS you all know by now, I LOVE the browns and golds which are mainly the colours I chose…obviously :D.

From left to right the colours are “On the Rocks” “Amaze” “So Quiche” and “Envy” The picture absolutely does not do these shadows any justice! They are gorgeous in person.

These eyeshadows are very soft and creamy so it is best to lightly swipe using your finger when applying on the eyelids. What I absolutely LOVE about them is that there are hints of glittery beautiful shininess which adds a pop without having to use a separate loose glitter and glue.

These shadows are also vegan and cruelty free! Yay!! You can get them HERE!

Here is the final look I created using “Amaze” on the lid and matte brown and black shadows in the crease… FullSizeRender IMG_9224 Make-up Details! Face
